Anjou is one of the 19 boroughs established in the City of Montreal in 2002. This borough located to the east of the island, which was formerly the city of Anjou founded in 1956, is home to nearly 45,000 people, more than half of whom are immigrants, spread out over an area of 13.7 square kilometers. It’s the borough with the oldest population in Montreal, with 40 percent of its residents between the ages of 35 and 64.
